Let’s keep positivity up, also in Real Estate for 2022.

I hope you and your loved ones are doing well. While the beginning of the year was not what we hoped for, there are certainly things to be positive about. During this difficult time, it’s important to cherish simple things each day such as enjoying a winter walk with a friend, watching kids playing in the snow, relaxing with a hot cup of tea and a good book, and sharing a smile with a passerby. The real estate market is also not all doom and gloom! Here’s an update: Prices are continuing to rise as expected and immigration is strong. This year, Canada will welcome 420,000 newcomers up slightly from 400,000 last year. For those interested in selling, the year-to-date average price in Oakville is $1,482,064. For Burlington, its $1,085,301. The detached home segment in Oakville increased an impressive 38.2% in 2020 and by 12.9% in 2021 making the average selling price of a detached home $2,135,315. The good news is that there are qualified buyers looking to buy, as the dream of ownership is still alive and well. While I have never witnessed such a dry market, it may still be a good opportunity to move forward in life depending on what you are looking for. Did you know that in December of 2017, there were 625 active listings, and 161 residential properties were sold? Fast forward to December 2021 and there were only 79 active listings, and 168 properties were sold. Let’s do what we can each day to persevere and focus on our dreams and goals for this year!
